What are the qualifications?
Personal qualities:
  • An open heart and mind
  • Stamina, patience, and flexibility
  • Physical, mental, and emotional health
  • Willingness and ability to respond to the needs of others
  • A sense of humor is definitely an asset!
Academic qualifications or prior experience in the field:
  • Generally not required.
Age:
  • Generally 20 years old and up. Exceptions are sometimes made, such as for Waldorf high school students doing a social practicum.
Language skills:
  • Coworker applicants must be able to understand and speak English well.

How do I find out what positions are available in the communities?

How do I apply?
There are three ways to apply:

  1. View our available volunteer positions and apply directly online.
  2. Download an application and send it directly to the community of your choice.
  3. Contact a community to request an application by mail, fax or email.

What happens to my application?
Once the community has received your application, the admissions coordinator will contact you to confirm that it has arrived and let you know the steps of the application process.
